Mr. Davis joined Autodesk, Inc. in March of 2007 after spending the last 8 years at WLC Architects, Inc. in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. He is now a Technical Specialist and a Revit expert, responsible for pre-sales activities at architecture and engineering firms in the southwest territory: Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Southern California, and Hawaii .

In this class, we will explore how BIM has grown up and evolved over the last 3 to 5 years.  We will discuss the business value of BIM for Architecture, MEP Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, and Owners.  In this discussion, we will examine the Autodesk portfolio of products that specifically support the BIM workflow.  Then we will have a demonstration of the software solutions that Autodesk provides for BIM.  In the conclusion, we will investigate what it takes to "Get to BIM" and the keys to success.

Kyle is a licensed civil engineer with Mitsunaga & Associates. He has designed residential and commercial developments, public works and military projects in Hawaii and South Korea. He has been a CAD manager and system administrator since 2002 specializing in mixed CAD platforms and operating system environments.

Much of the CAD user's day to day work has little to do with AutoCAD, but a great number of us find these tools essential to get their work done.  In this session you will learn how to manage a hundred passwords with a single keystroke; transfer and receive large files without clogging your email with attachments; and create, markup and edit PDFs without spending hundreds of dollars on Acrobat.

Mr. Klare is a Technical Specialist in Civil Engineering for U.S. CAD with over 10 years experience in the Civil Engineering industry. Prior to joining the reseller channel, he was a drafter, designer, and CAD Manager with industry experience in flood and geotechnical mapping, as well as residential and commercial site design. He regularly conducts seminars on the use of Autodesk technology in civil engineering and provides implementation services, customization, training, and support to civil engineering professionals on Civil 3D.

LIDAR scanning is often used on sites to extract a high definition point cloud of the as-built conditions.  This can be used in a million different ways, but here in Civil 3D we will explore how to manage and leverage this data.  We can generate valuable site analysis inside of Civil 3D, but we also have the ability to export it to Navisworks for more robust modeling needs.  Inside Navisworks we can run clash detection based on tolerances to see where our new design may interfere with the site before the change order  is needed.  Save time and money, go digital before it hits the field!

Mrs. Hata is a Technical Specialist in Structural Engineering for U.S. CAD with nearly ten of CAD experience, six of them in structural drafting. Currently her main focus is on implementing and educating clients with AutoCAD, Revit Architecture and Revit Structure. She has had production experience with a variety of disciplines including structural engineering, landscape architecture and architecture.

Can you imagine just taking a few digital photos of a building, and by day’s end, having a digital prototype – a model of that building in your computer – ready to be used not just as a performance benchmark of that building but as an energy model? Can you imagine taking that model and translating it instantly into an eQUEST or Energy Plus model, rather than having to spend days developing it from scratch in eQUEST or Energy Plus? Well, if you can’t, don’t take it personally – like you’re not too imaginative or something – you just haven’t been to my class yet!! So come and see how you can do rapid energy modeling from your desk in a morning, rather than spending days in the field with a tape measure.

Yah – dis is da answer… Come join me and everyone else who wants to have a cool hour of unboring fun (yes, really, I am going to actually make an MEP presentation, fun and not boring). We’re going to look at just what the capabilities of Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP are, where they overlap each other, on what projects you would employ one or the other on, etc. Did you know that if you are using AutoCAD right now, I could sneak your AutoCAD out and replace it with AutoCAD MEP, you would do tons more, faster, and more accurately, but still work with it just like you did with AutoCAD? Did you know when you buy Revit MEP, that AutoCAD MEP comes with it? If you didn’t know these, then you need to join us for an hour and learn even more than that, and I get to show you some cool picks & clicks too!!
